The Story of the Music:

All of the music on this CD is inspired by the beauty of traditional Irish music. For two years I lived in Ireland and fell in love with the people, the land, and the music that pours from both like a mountain stream. Listening to traditional tunes in pubs and concert halls I wondered how these magnificent melodies might be sung in church. How to bring together the pub and the parish? Walking the misty, magical, mountain paths of Glendalough, Ireland, and particular to the choir there. Together we first tested out these melodies with new text and finally presented the new Celtic Mass for the very first time on June2, 2007 on the Feast of St. Kevin. Pure joy! It is to these lovely and gracious people that I dedicate the music on this CD.
