Women's Wellness: The Power of Sisterhood
Saturday, October 11, 2025
2 pm - 5 pm
Cost: Donation
Please join us for a day of connection and empowerment. We will come together to cultivate meaningful bonds and create a community of support and advocacy for women. It can be challenging to meet friends and maintain friendships as adults; our lives are busy. Our hosts, Mary Beth and Bridget, who are also dear friends will share stories, laughs, and helpful ways to build lasting friendships. Our day will include a nature walk, coffee, nourishing & comforting food, an activity to fill our cups, and a talk and break out session. By the end of the day, you will hopefully leave feeling more empowered and supported than you did when you arrived, and connected to new friends.
Mary Beth Gibson is the co-founder of Here For The Girls, Inc., a. non-profit organization that supports young women affected by breast cancer. Mary Beth founded and created H4TG in 2006 after having breast cancer and experiencing the challenges that come with being a young woman with breast cancer while caring for her young children. She is a wife, and a mom of three adult sons.
Mary Beth lives in James City County where she is an activist for change and social justice in her community. She loves coffee, traveling, hiking and connecting with nature.
Bridget Weinberg is the founder of Kelly Weinberg Foundation, a non-profit that provides emotional support and camaraderie to all those touched by cancer, to include survivors, thrivers, caregivers and those grieving the loss of a loved one. Bridget started KWF after losing her husband, Kelly to brain cancer in 2007. She knows personally what a difference it makes to have a supportive community during and after cancer, and after a heartbreaking loss.
Bridget lives in Richmond with her adult Autistic daughter, and two Autistic grandchildren. She is an activist for social justice, especially LGBTQ+, Autism and disabilities. She loves coffee, nature, music and new adventures.
CELTIC SPIRITUALITY CROSSING THE THRESHOLD
A TRANSFORMING STRATEGY FOR THESE TIMES
October 31 - November 1, 2025
Friday evening - Sunday noon
Cost: $180
We will explore Celtic spirituality as a strategy for both personal and political flourishing.Through sacred and subversive stories, poetry, and song we will exercise our imagination to see the light in our own darkness, to kindle courage in the face of overwhelming odds, to cross the threshold between the living and the dead, to plot the downfall of the powers of repression, and to join together with the life-giving powers of creativity and faith. This is a spirituality both deeply personal and profoundly political.
Because this is a tremendous undertaking we'll have a full weekend of Samhain to begin this task followed by a second weekend of the Winter Solstice Dec. 19-21. Join us for one or both weekends!
Br. Stefan, founder of Community of Peace in Louisa, VA, recently completed his PhD in Historical and Cultural Studies at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA.His dissertation: Howling at the Moon: The Transformative Spirituality of the Irish Lament is a deep dive into one of the most substantive elements of Celtic spirituality - the Irish lament. He lived in Ireland for six years absorbing the beauty and depth of Irish culture and a Celtic spirituality that speaks urgently to today's troubled world.
